This Euphoria-inspired session was such a refreshing creative shift and a reminder of how much I love photographing artsy boudoir portraits. While timeless boudoir will always have my heart, there is something incredibly energizing about designing creative boudoir portraits that feel cinematic, expressive, and completely unique.
One of my favorite ways to approach these sessions is by renting a beautiful studio or Airbnb and transforming it to match the vision. When we intentionally choose a space and build a concept around it, the experience becomes more than just a photoshoot — it becomes art.
My friend Kris offered to model for this session so I could dive deeper into practicing artificial lighting techniques, and the results honestly made me fall even more in love with this style of shooting.
While I love classic boudoir for its intimacy and simplicity, story-driven sessions allow us to step into something more immersive.
Whether the inspiration is cinematic, editorial, moody, playful, or fashion-forward, building a narrative gives your images depth and personality. Instead of simply posing, you get to embody a feeling.
That is the magic of artsy boudoir portraits — they reflect not just how you look, but how you want to be seen.
There is something transformative about photographing in a space chosen specifically for your vision. Renting a thoughtfully designed studio or a character-filled Airbnb allows us to craft an environment that supports the story we’re telling.
The textures, light, architecture, and overall atmosphere all become part of the creative direction.
The best part? When we approach boudoir this way, we are truly only limited by our imagination.
Of course, if a fully conceptual session isn’t your style, I still adore photographing timeless boudoir portraits that focus on connection, confidence, and authenticity. But if you have ever dreamed of images that feel like they belong in a magazine — artistic, elevated, and deeply personal — a creative session might be exactly what you are looking for.

I originally set out to recreate the iconic blue-and-pink lighting palette that inspired this shoot, but creativity often has other plans. We pivoted into a vibrant orange-and-blue lighting setup that paired beautifully with Kris’s deep red hair and created an unexpectedly striking color story.
That willingness to adapt is a huge part of what makes creative boudoir portraits so exciting — sometimes the unplanned direction is the one that produces the strongest imagery.
Halfway through the session one of the colored lights stopped working, so we leaned fully into a dramatic spotlight for the remainder of the shoot. And honestly? Those images might be my favorites from the entire gallery.
Limitations have a funny way of pushing creativity even further.

Artsy boudoir portraits go beyond beautiful images — they create a mood, evoke emotion, and invite you into a story.
Kris looked absolutely stunning in the direct light (and can we talk about how badass her tattoo looks?), but what really elevated the session were the styling choices. The Jules-inspired gems added a bold, editorial feel that immediately shifted the energy from traditional boudoir into something more artistic.
These are the kinds of details that transform a session from pretty to unforgettable.

If you are drawn to photos that feel expressive, editorial, and a little unexpected, creative boudoir portraits might be your perfect fit.
These sessions are ideal for anyone who:
And if you’re not sure yet? That’s okay too. We can dream something up together.
Because the truth is — the most compelling boudoir portraits happen when creativity, intention, and personality collide.
If you’ve been considering booking a boudoir session and want an experience that feels both artistic and empowering, let’s start planning something unforgettable.
